Course description
This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply highly specialised knowledge and skills in the field of organisational learning and capability development.
Individuals in these roles generate and evaluate complex ideas. They initiate, design and execute major learning and development functions within an organisation. Typically, they have full responsibility and accountability for the personal output and work of others.
This qualification may apply to leaders and managers in an organisation where learning is used to build organisational capability.
BSB80120 consists of eight (8) units — three (3) core and five (5) elective.
Mode of study
The course is delivered face-to-face and includes:
- 20 hours of face-to-face training per week
- Access to the e-learning system
- All resources provided online
Amount of training
The amount of training has been determined to give learners sufficient time to develop the skills, knowledge and experience required. Volume of learning includes structured classroom sessions, group and one-on-one support, guided learning activities, individual reading and research, assessments, feedback reviews and work placement.

Entry requirements
Learners must meet the following entry requirements to be admitted to this training product:
- Aged 18 years or older
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- IELTS 6.0 (no band less than 5.5)
- Sound language, literacy and basic computer skills
- Unique Student Identifier (USI)
- Valid photo ID and signature
- Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) evaluation
- Positive National Criminal History check

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) / Course credit
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is available. AVC's process is structured to minimise time and cost, with a supportive approach for learners. You should apply ideally at enrolment, and up to 2 weeks into your course.
In accordance with Standards for RTO 2025, Australis Vocational College recognises qualifications issued by other RTOs. AVC will accept and mutually recognise qualifications and Statements of Attainment awarded by any other Registered Training Organisation, unless precluded by licensing requirements.
