Advanced Diploma of Community Sector Management

Course description
This qualification reflects the role of workers who are middle managers or managers across a range of community sector organisations. They work independently and report to executive management, directors or boards.
They undertake a range of functions requiring the application of knowledge and skills to achieve results in line with the organisation's goals and strategic directions.
At this level, workers have responsibility for planning and monitoring service delivery, recruitment and performance management of other paid or unpaid workers, managing risk and contributing to continuous improvement within the scope of their role.
CHC62015 consists of thirteen (13) units — eight (8) core and five (5) elective.
Mode of study
The course is delivered face-to-face and includes:
- 20 hours of scheduled face-to-face classes per week
- Online training through the e-learning system
- All resources provided online

The amount of training has been determined to give learners sufficient time to develop the skills, knowledge and experience required in each unit of competency.

Entry requirements
Learners must meet the following entry requirements to be admitted to this training product:
- Aged 18 years or older
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Prior experience in community services, aged care, disability, mental health or nursing — OR completion of CHC52021/CHC52025 Diploma of Community Services, Diploma of Mental Health, Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, or an equivalent qualification
- IELTS 6.0 (no band less than 5.5)
- Sound language, literacy and basic computer skills
- Unique Student Identifier (USI)
- Valid photo ID and signature
- Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) evaluation
- Positive National Criminal History check

Learners who obtain CHC62015 Advanced Diploma of Community Sector Management can enrol into a higher qualification or proceed to employment in the industry.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) / Course credit
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is available. AVC's process is structured to minimise time and cost, with a supportive approach for learners. You should apply ideally at enrolment, and up to 2 weeks into your course.
In accordance with Standards for RTO 2025, Australis Vocational College recognises qualifications issued by other RTOs. AVC will accept and mutually recognise qualifications and Statements of Attainment awarded by any other Registered Training Organisation, unless precluded by licensing requirements.
